Presentazione internazionale
Siamo lieti di invitarvi alla presentazione ufficiale dell’International Guiding Statement on alternatives to solitary confinement (IGS). L’IGS propone linee guida a livello mondiale per ridurre e superare definitivamente l'uso dell'isolamento nelle carceri. La sua redazione è frutto del lavoro di un gruppo internazionale e multidisciplinare di esperti, coordinato da Antigone e Physicians for Human Rights Israel.
Nonostante gli standard internazionali ne riconoscano l'impatto devastante, l'isolamento continua ad essere la risposta dei sistemi carcerari a molteplici situazioni, a causa di una presunta mancanza di alternative. L'IGS si propone di colmare questa lacuna, con l'auspicio che diventi presto uno strumento consolidato della soft law internazionale.
La conferenza, di valore e proiezione universale, riunirà rappresentanti autorevoli da tutti i continenti.
